Strong, Smart, & Bold Stories

  • Southern Research lead an afternoon of countless science experiments with our 7th and 8th graders, you won't believe what they did!

  • See what is happening with our Girls Inc. Garden!

  • The Cool and Confident Workshop was an all-day workshop for girls 12-14 years of age and their mothers and “other mothers” (grandmothers, aunts, etc.). We offered an intimate setting of honest communication within a safe environment, in order to discussion issues impacting teenage girls on a daily basis.

  • This month we held another "Young Latinas Lead" session. The topic was on college preparation with the focus on ACT testing. We held a practice test for the high school girls and had a question and answer session for their families. 

  • Our second year of the Bold Futures Mentoring Program is about to begin and we are in need of more mentors! Mentors will have to meet with their group of girls for two hours every week throughout the course of the school year and into the summer. It is a requirement of the program that mentors spend at least 48 hours with their mentees by the end of the program.

  • Unity Day 2017 is right around the corner on October 25th, and we want to make sure you’re ready to be a part of it!

  • Girls Inc. of Central Alabama, in partnership with the Southern Automotive Women's Forum, hosted the first annual All Girls Auto Know event to expose 160 girls to the field of STEM and careers in the automobile industry.

  • We would like to thank everyone who helped make this year's Uniform Drive a success! Girls Inc. of Central Alabama was able to provide two uniforms to 78 children this year.
