Naja Williams is a 7th grader at Phillips Academy, and has been a Girls Inc. member for three years. Her favorite subject is math and she plans to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Naja also enjoys playing the violin, dancing and singing at her church. Her favorite think about Girls Inc. is that it helps girls build confidence. She also likes to learn new recipes in cooking class.

Girls Inc. offers a year-round program which provides both after-school and summer curriculum. At our Crestwood Center, we serve girls from in and around the Birmingham area. In addition, we host a summer program in Walker County. Programs include:

Our popular center-based programs fill up quickly and reach capacity each summer. Because many of our members return year after year, they build strong bonds with one another and with our staff. Projects like the building and care of our Organic Garden, a creative writing project with the DISCO Writing Center, and our Teen Leadership Program keep our members excited and active.
